Say Yes to the Dress Bridesmaids episode

So, we got direct tv the past week and while watching TLC today (oooh about 5 minutes go) I came across the Say Yes to the Dress Bridesmaids edition. So, after watching episodes with bitchy, opinionated bridesmaids, here's something that I have to say. For all the bridesmaid divas out there, if you feel the need to dictate what you wear (and I'm not talking about gentle suggestions) - color, style, etc. and can't keep your negative opinions to yourself (and you end up ruining shit for your bride who is supposed to be someone who is important to you), here's some advice: It's not your wedding. Shut up, wear the dress, or be a guest and not a part of the wedding party.

For brides who feel the need to dictate every aspect of your bridal party, to the extent that you expect your bridesmaids to pay more than $300 for a bridesmaids dress, ease up. Take into consideration that they are bridesmaids, not the bride, that their finances may differ from yours, and a $500 bridesmaid dress may not be possible. You may think that you are doing them a great honor by having them in your wedding, and don't get me wrong, we are, but they are doing you a favor and are also honoring you by agreeing to be your bridesmaids. If you don't treat them right, you may end up standing with your FH alone at the alter.

When all is said and done, it's only a dress. The memories of the night should be more important than dresses and minor details that you won't remember 10 years down the road anyway. The whole point of the wedding is to marry the person you love and to party with those you care about and cherish. Nothing else matters.
