Wedding - Twin City Bridal Association

I added this information to my Events page as well. I went last year in October. My FH, MOH, and FMIL all went and it was a blast! It's only $15 per ticket with an option to get name and address labels for an extra $5. I didn't get the address labels and ended up writing my information about 100 times. It's worth the $5. So check it out and if you decide to go have fun!!!! Go with the expectation that there might be a lot of brides there and it gets a little crowded towards the middle of the day. That way, you won't be surprised (or as annoyed) when it comes to be 1:00 and it's standing room only for the fashion shows.

Video: An Essay on Women

I am taking a women's culture class (I'm an archaeological anthropology student and culture courses take up a good portion of my degree classes.) We are watching a film from the 1960's called "An Essay on Women." Ironically, this "essay" is presented by a man. According to this film, women go to work in order to get away from the everyday vigors of a woman's life - that it's a mini vacation in the day. A man is uncomfortable when a woman works because she should only be giving him attention. "Working women often drop their reserve." Apparently women are a paradox and it's hard on the paradoxical but it's worse for those who live with them. He's trying to pretty much say that women are making their "place in life" seem worse than it is. That men aren't the problem to a woman's success in life, it's their expectation of being more than they should be that makes them unsatisfied with their lives. Apparently we're also mechanically inept, or it's a theory that men have that's untrue and that women just don't correct them because we want them doing things for us. "The whole thing may be a joke that women play on men."

He makes comments that contradict the things he said above so that you aren't exactly sure where he stands which is really difficult to try to figure out. So I don't know whether to hate him or agree with him. Most of what he is saying is crap though. Women have a masculine side and men have a feminine side. Women aren't good artists but men are good artists because they tap into their feminine side. WHAT?!

Thank you women's suffrage movement! Without you, I might have hurt someone by now... and I don't think I'm the only one.

Bridzilla of the Day, holy cow.

How can anyone be this much of a *bleep*?! If I ever behave this way, someone shoot me. Chloe, Rae, you got it? There's no words...no excuse for someone to behave this badly. I don't care how much you hate something, you don't be rude like this!

DIY: Tea Light Lanterns - Project Wedding

DIY: Tea Light Lanterns - Project Wedding

I really like this as an idea for the ceremony. I'm thinking about tying these to the backs of aisle chairs. I like the flameless tealights idea. It'll go well with our LED theme. Safety first!

This is a cute idea for cocktail hour. I don't think I'd be able to do this for the actual wedding per our agreement with our caterer but I would consider this for a shower or rehearsal dinner.

Wedding Wish Trees

I really like this idea! I think we can add LEDs to this and have a really fun time making it. I think that I would be interested in using this instead of a guest book.

New Event Added

I added a new event to my Events page. This is for an upcoming wedding fair in Minneapolis.

DIY Projects

Today I came across a website for DIY wedding projects. I plan on checking it out when I get a bit of free time. I have been adding stuff to this blog just not necessarily regular posts as of yet but I plan on doing so after my test tomorrow. Currently, I'm exhausted and ready for bed. So, without any further preamble Do-it-yourself Wedding

Events

Most events that I put on here will take place in Minnesota. If there are other locations where the event that is happening in Minnesota is also happening in other states, I'll give that information as well.

How to pee while wearing your wedding dress

While browsing the net this morning looking for interesting things to put on my blog, I came across an article on how to pee during your wedding while wearing your wedding dress. This is hilarious but really good advice. No one talks about peeing the day of your wedding. I always thought that you'd bring one or two of your 'maids with you if you have a fuller A-line or ballgown wedding dress (such as I do,) but this site gives you the advice and freedom to go and pee on your own.

A Bit of Random Fact: The flush toilet was improved upon by Thomas Crapper (the inventor of the flush toilet was Queen Elizabeth I's godson, Sir John Harrington.) This is most likely where the term 'taking a crap" comes from, since the original toilet in the US often was referred to as "The Crapper," after Thomas Crapper.  Some legacy. But they were pretty, weren't they? Nowadays we don't have this type of mastery in our bathrooms...at least not in our toilets. This exhibit was really interesting. If anyone is in Seattle, WA, I suggest taking the Underground Tour at least once in your lifetime. Ghosthunters also did a special on the Underground.
Photos are my own and were taken in Seattle, WA at the final part of the Underground Tour.

Welcome and Enjoy!

This is my first post on this website. I have another wedding blog at www.missyandy2012.wordpress.com but it really wasn't doing it for me as far as style and feel go. So, I hope to incorporate a lot of what I had on my old blog into this new one. I don't think I'll be deleting the other blog but I plan on using this one primarily from here on out.
